Hello! So this song was originally supposed to maybe be a hip hop beat that I was going to use for something else, but I really fell in love with how it turned out and decided to try out using my own vocals on it with an R&B type feel. I am happy with how it turned out, and this song really reflects the season I have been in for a while now... very lost and separated from the Lord. Thank goodness for His grace and forgiveness for sure. I created the instrumental from sampling a BUNCH of different piano loops and other piano audio. then after a ton of effects and arranging, I came up with the main progression. Then I also added a section I cut from a Francis Chan sermon that spoke to me, and other elements as well. Finally, thank you to my girlfriend for both helping me with the lyrics as well as the artwork. Her website will be live soon, so I will be linking that for everyone to see very shortly. Thank you!
lyrics
Transform Me
This isnt me
Im begging you please
Grab ahold of me
Im losing grip of everything
I know i need to change
All within me wants to
But my body stops so
I feel like my soul is lost
You keep saying whered you go
And honestly I dont know
Im feeling so alone
I just have to come home
Its been so long since weve talked
I know it doesnt matter but
I just thank you for being there
I need your transformation
I’m crying out, lamenting
I carry sorrow in my bones
Claiming my faith
Losing grip of my own
I can't seem to untangle
These shaking thoughts, I'm so prone
To continue down this path
But I don't want to dethrone
Yahweh who has kept me strong
In this place
That is scarcely of His kingdom
But abundant of His grace
That'll carry me home
Abba Father, here I come
You welcome me with open arms
